Four people, including three children, have been confirmed dead following an outbreak of Kalaazar disease in Marsabit county.
According to the Health department, cases of the outbreak have been reported in parts of Logologo, Laisamis, Shurr and Korr areas.
Addressing the press in his office, county Health executive Jama Wolde attributed the disease to the persistent drought being experienced in the county.
He said 21 residents have been admitted to various hospitals for treatment with 14 in Laisamis Referral Hospital and seven in Marsabit County Referral Hospital.
