After acquiring his Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University Film Program, majoring in Directing and Screenwriting, Po Yu now is back home, settling in Taipei. Most of his works tend to observe the subtle emotions of urbanites. In addition to being interested in the motifs of urban alienation and floating alienation, Po-Yu also likes to explore contemporary Taiwanese social and environmental issues in different regions, including the immigrants, the survival pressure of young people, the gap between urban and rural areas, and changes in the natural environment.
