Violeta Volpe

Rahima Dokaji is a journalist based in Kano, Nigeria. Her career is marked by her versatility and dedication to creating compelling content across multiple platforms. She has worked with Media Trust on various projects, including roles at Aminya Trust, Daily Trust, and Trust TV and Radio, where she has excelled as a translator, content writer, and news reporter. Her work spans traditional and digital media, including print, online, radio, podcasts, and television, making her one of the top female journalists in Kano to successfully compete in fields traditionally dominated by men.

In addition to her role at Media Trust, Rahima has contributed as a freelancer for Nigeria Health Watch and has held key positions at Liberty FM Kano, Vision FM Kano, and Freedom Radio/Dala FM, where she honed her skills in broadcasting, presentation, and news production. Her expertise extends to translating content between English, Hausa, and Pidgin languages, as well as adapting AI technologies to enhance content creation and audience engagement.

Her notable achievements include being the only Nigerian fellow selected for the DW Akademie Podcast training on climate change in 2023. In this role, she has focused on creating a podcast that highlights women-centric climate change issues, ensuring that the unique challenges and contributions of women in this field are heard.
