Hayley Zimak is a Canadian journalist based in London, United Kingdom. She has over ten years of media experience, four of those with the country’s largest media company, Rogers Communications. She worked her way up from weekend traffic announcer to full-time news anchor and reporter, voicing national spots for TV and radio along the way before taking on the role of senior talk show producer for 570 News in Kitchener Ontario. Hayley’s passion is documentaries and feature pieces, one of which recently won an Edward R. Murrow award. She has also produced pieces from Guatemala and Nepal and has reported live from England and Nepal. She is currently the acting editor at a digital media company that has five publications. She is responsible for writing features and editing magazines that focus on the health and education sectors.

I travelled into the hardest hit areas of Nepal to capture the rebuilding efforts of Women for Peace and Democracy, Nepal. I conducted the field interview with Shobha Shrestha and shot all the footage (excluding the footage from 2015/immediate disaster relief aid). I also edited and scripted the package, which I then sent back to David from World Accord to voice.
